Wind River 2, filming has begun on the sequel to Taylor Sheridan’s film

FILM INFORMATION

Wind River: The Next Chapter is the title of the sequel to Wind River, written and directed by Taylor Sheridan. A film that received excellent critical acclaim but was penalized by the scandal involving Harvey Weinstein, executive producer of the feature film. Now a new chapter is ready to land on the screen.

Compared to the cast of the first film, the only survivor should be Martin Sensmeier, who will be joined by Jason Clarke, Scott Eastwood and Chaske Spencer. The sequel to Wind River was announced last November, when the question was still whether Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen would return; in reality the cast will be very different from the first film.

In the meantime filming has officially begun these days in Canada, near Calgary. Sheridan, who has also been working on Yellowstone for Paramount+ in recent years, leaves the directorial helm to Kari Skogland, with Patrick Massett and John Zinman writing the screenplay.

Wind River, released in theaters in 2017, is set in an Indian reservation in Wyoming, in which Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) is engaged in his duties as a wolf hunter. One day the man discovers the body of a girl lost in the ice of a freezing desert place.

The film also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Jon Bernthal. Now Taylor Sheridan is ready to return to Wind River and waiting to learn more about the sequel, retrieve our review of The Secrets of Wind River.
