TOM Brady’s tenure as minority owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces has begun.
The 46-year-old traveled to the Michelob ULTRA Arena for Game 1 of the Grand Final on Sunday after his deal to buy the defending champions was approved on Monday.
But Brady didn’t receive the warmest reception.
Ace All-Star Kelsey Plumb had some harsh words for the seven-time Super Bowl champion after he took his seat on the sideline.
Speaking to the media after the game, she revealed that she welcomed Brady and told him: “It’s important that you take the time to show up.”
Brady took that well enough, responding: “You already knew that,” and later commenting on X (formerly Twitter): “No one is safe from KP.”
After their 99-82 victory over the New York Liberty, Plum explained that she was “very excited about (Brady’s) investment in our team and understanding what that means to us and our growth, not only Just us, and the league, and focusing on us.
“I kid, but it’s great to have him and I know he cares.
“His daughter and niece play women’s sports, so he understands the commitment it takes, so it’s cool to be a part of it.”
Brady’s niece, UCLA softball player Maya Brady, is one such female sports star.

The reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year, she was also a two-time first-team NFCA All-American and the 2023 Pac-12 batting champion.
As for the Aces, their attention will turn to Game 2 on Wednesday, October 11th before traveling to Barclays Center on Sunday, October 15th.
Brady is clearly enjoying the WNBA’s welcome, posting on his Instagram Story after the win: “Down by one! Don’t let up @lvaces!”, adding: “Huuuuge game @j.young5.”
Jackie Young scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
Plum also had 26 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist.
