In a recent interview with Brazilian publication Omelete for World of Reel, cinematographer Robbie Ryan revealed that Lanthimos and Stone filmed AND together while the Poor Things VFX team completed post-production.

Ryan continued, “Post-production on Poor People took so long, and with COVID shutting down some projects, we had a window to shoot. Yorgos said, “I don’t want to watch special effects every day, let’s make another movie!”

Deadline first reported that Stone, Plemons, Dafoe and Qualley will star in Lanthimos’ film I in September 2022. Plot details remain under wraps, although the film will be released by Searchlight Pictures and produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Kasia Malipan and Lanthimos.

“Working with Yorgos continues to be a highlight for us at Searchlight, and this is another truly original project that sets his work apart,” said Searchlight Pictures Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield. “Working again with Emma, ​​Willem, Jesse and Margaret, as well as Element and Film4, is just the icing on the cake.”

Lanthimos and Stone’s latest collaboration, Bad Things, will be released in US theaters on December 8, 2023. Along with Dafoe and Qualley, Bad Things also stars Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott and Jerrod Carmichael.
