Behind the iron gates of the sanctuary of Hidden Valley Estates, a haven of the stars, Zoe Saldana bids farewell to her legendary estate after seven years of ownership. The acclaimed actress, known for her galaxy-traveling roles in Star Trek, Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy, is offering her tennis court estate for $16.5 million, purchasing it from fashion luminary Kimora Lee Simmons for $8.7 million dollars in 2016.
The original 1974 building, located on a manicured half-acre lot, has since been reimagined as an elegant, three-story, five-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence spanning 6,400 square feet. Inside, imported stone and designer lighting combine with wood flooring for a sophisticated feel.
A winding path leads visitors through verdant gardens to pillared verandas, beyond which are vaulted foyers and staircases. The dining room, finished in fine wood, adjoins the living room, heated by a fireplace and cooled by modern glass and steel furniture. The splendor extends to the gourmet kitchens and numerous living rooms.
Upstairs, the pita master bedroom features sitting areas, marble-clad dual closets and an oval soaking tub. Elsewhere, entertainment, sports and gathering amenities include a pool, spa and professional-grade tennis court, all privately owned within these secluded grounds.
Indeed, Saldana inhabits rare company, with celebrities among the residents of the surrounding areas. The estate offers exclusive yet tranquil living, an oasis of tranquility behind the ramparts and verdant barriers.
However, now that the actress is heading into the future, the estate is waiting for a new custodian, who has an extra $16.5 million. Perhaps another creator will lay claim to their courtyards and halls, using their free spaces as incubators where new works are born. Or maybe the industry giant will make it his personal Versailles.
