Swiss films – eighteen in total in different sections – once again dominate the program of the Zurich Film Festival (28 September – 8 October). Among the many world premieres on the agenda this year, we will see Michael Steinerthriller Early risers Thomas Tumenalatest documentary about Salvation Army official, Skies over Zurichand the long-awaited series Davos To Ian Eric Mack, Anca Miruna Lazarescu And Christian Tiedewhich is a significant joint production between Switzerland and Germany.
For its nineteenth edition, the festival is banking on a significant number of US guests (including actors Ethan Hawke), who will present their films and receive various prizes awarded at the event every year. This time it will be an American director. Todd Haynes which receives the “Tribute…” award and will also present his latest film, May Decemberwho performed in Cannes back in May. Actress Jessica Chastainmeanwhile, will be awarded the Golden Icon Award.
