17 Astroworld Festival Attendees Sue Live Nation and Travis Scott for Injuries Suffered During the Event

HOUSTON – 17 people who attended Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld festival have filed a lawsuit against multiple defendants related to the festival tragedy.

It’s the latest in a string of lawsuits from participants who say they were injured during the event.

The lawsuit states that the plaintiffs suffered personal injuries and emotional trauma as a direct and proximate result of the defendants’ actions and/or omissions at the 2021 Astroworld Festival.

“Defendants egregiously failed to protect the health, safety and lives of participants at the 2021 Astroworld Festival,” the lawsuit states.

Defendants named in the lawsuit include individuals associated with Live Nation, ScoreMore, Apple, ASM Global Parent, Inc., Travis Scott, Drake and others.

The lawsuit says the defendants knew the risks and failed to follow safety standards regarding crowd control and security planning.

“Defendants failed to exercise reasonable care in performing the above requirements and, in some cases, failed to perform such safety-critical tasks at all. Defendants ignored all warning signs and failed to comply with numerous industry, regulatory and/or generally accepted safety standards,” the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit says the plaintiffs seek to prove to the court and jury that the defendants’ conduct constituted gross negligence.

“Defendants turned a blind eye to the extreme danger created by their willful, reckless and willful failure to plan, design, manage, conduct, staff and supervise this event. “Defendants’ gross negligence directly resulted in the injuries complained of by plaintiffs, and they should therefore be awarded exemplary compensatory damages,” the lawsuit states.
