Marco Cetina Cámara, director of Agustin Oholán Hospital, announced that the hospital had admitted about 34 cases of severe dengue, 10% of the total number of patients registered, but that, on the contrary, Yucatan had not yet received treatment. “We’re in a period of dengue rebound, and about 10% of all our cases are severe, with severe manifestations, requiring hospitalization, both adults and children, although mainly minors, and we’ve had about 34 cases,” said the expert.
Cetina Camara also reported that based on the reports they received, the eastern part of the state was the worst affected.
“The fumigation campaign is ongoing, there are other plans, but it’s really spread widely,” he said.
Likewise, the doctor clarifies that cases of conjunctivitis are rare, especially seasonal or spring; the coronavirus does not pose any risk to the entity, despite a significant increase in infections in other parts of the republic.
