Serena Williams is getting all the love she needs at home.
On Tuesday, the retired tennis pro received some comforting hugs from her three-month-old daughter, Adira River, after she revealed she’d had a rough day.
She showed off the sweet moment on X (formerly Twitter), posting a precious photo of her little one wrapped in a blue polka dot blanket and nestled against her chest.
“This makes me happy,” she captioned the photo.
Just hours before sharing the photo, Williams, 42, took to the social media platform to address his mental health struggles.
“I’m not okay today. It’s okay not to be okay. No one has an easy day every day. If you’re not okay today, I’m with you,” she wrote.
“There’s always tomorrow😘Love you.”
The 23-time Grand Slam champion immediately received positive messages from fans thanking her for her honesty.
“This speaks to me. Thank you for these words of energy. I have prayed for you, you will be okay! I will be okay too.” One netizen commented.
Another responded: “Thank you for being honest about your feelings.”
“Remember to practice self-compassion and reach out to loved ones when they need support. We can get through challenging times together,” a third added.

Williams’ candid post comes a week after she took to TikTok to showcase the reality of motherhood after attending the 2023 CFDA Awards.
The humorous video begins with a glamorous shot of the tennis legend in an elegant sequined gown, then cuts to a clip of Williams looking exhausted while expressing breast milk.
“What my life is really like…it’s not as glamorous as you think,” the mother of two wrote in the caption.
She also got a real look into mom life in October when she shared a photo of herself working out while her 6-year-old daughter Olympia stared at her.
“Olympia watching me try to get my abs working again. Come get fit!” she captioned the photo.
Back in September, she posted a tweet expressing her awe for all parents.
“Raising two kids is definitely not easy. How do you moms/dads do it so well!!!??? Especially when one is sick? Crazy respect,” she wrote.
Williams has been open about motherhood and mental health for years, dedicating her 2018 Wimbledon runner-up finish to moms around the world.
“I dedicate this to all the moms out there who have been through a lot,” she told Time in 2018.
“There were days, I cried. I was really sad. I had my breakdowns. It was a really rough 11 months. If I can do it, you can do it.”
The Olympic gold medalist also opened up about her difficult decision to retire in 2022 to focus on her family – a choice she said affects women more than men.
“If I were a man, I wouldn’t be like this because I would be out there playing ball and winning, while my writing wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family,” she said in a Vogue article wrote.
“If I had this opportunity, maybe I would be more like Tom Brady.”
Williams has daughters Olympia and Adira with husband Alexis Ohanian.
