Queretaro, Qro., August 20, 2023. – The Secretary of Health of the State of Querétaro (Sesa), through the First Health Jurisdiction, in coordination with the Legislature of the LX State, organized a health day in El Tintero, Querétaro during which health personnel from different projects Over 300 people were cared for in the different modules installed.

Twenty-five people were tested for arterial hypertension, diabetes, overweight and obesity, and provided with counseling to prevent these diseases and improve their quality of life.

In the nutritional guidance section, 24 mothers received training on good diet and food guidance to correct malnutrition, prevent obesity and overweight, and use food models to illustrate different dishes of six foods: animal protein, grains, beans, Fruits and vegetables and fats.

For timely detection of cervical cancer, 12 samples were taken; for breast cancer, breast exams were performed on 12 women, and 10 mammogram appointments were scheduled for women over the age of 40.

As part of the awareness campaign, presentations on different contraceptive methods, distribution of brochures (bilateral tubal blockage, vasectomy, reproductive risks, IUD and postpartum event contraception), distribution of 350 male condoms, aimed at Prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Likewise, several bottles of folic acid are given to women of childbearing age.

In the same way, 10 people underwent rapid testing of HIV and syphilis samples, and 10 lectures on STIs and proper condom use were given. During the module, 200 condoms and a booklet with basic information on HIV and hepatitis C were distributed to the population.

Likewise, attendees were given instructions on good hydration, prevention of acute diarrheal illness, deworming, and proper use of oral electrolytes (Vida Suero Oral), and were distributed sachets of oral electrolytes and bottles of albendazole as a deworming treatment .

Dental professionals cared for 45 patients in a mobile dental treatment room, where they received plaque control, brushing technique, proper flossing, and oral health instruction. In addition, 40 coats of fluoride varnish and two curing treatments (resin) were performed. The booth conducted guidance and prevention activities for 84 adults and 144 minors, and distributed 228 sets of toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Notably, mental health care utilized a variety of tools, referred seven individuals in need of specialized care, and explained the importance of reinforcing protective factors.

Dogs and cats must be vaccinated starting in the first month of life, revaccinated three months later, and then annually thereafter. During the module in which this operation was carried out, 87 dogs and 4 cats were vaccinated against rabies.
