Amgen celebrated Oct. 12 at its Thousand Oaks headquarters as part of the biotech giant’s second annual Mission Week.
Mission Week is an internal initiative that gives Amgen employees a chance to step away from their day-to-day work, celebrate the difference their efforts make to millions of patients around the world, and be inspired by those patient journeys, according to company spokeswoman Megan Fox.
This year’s mission week consisted of Patient Voices groups in Thousand Oaks, Munich and Singapore.
Amgen Chairman and CEO Robert Bradway briefly addressed the several thousand company employees attending the celebration in Thousand Oaks, saying, “Let us strive to maintain the spirit of our mission of serving patients, not just this week, but every week.” weeks.
“Thank you for what you do to serve patients,” he said. “Thank you to the many Amgen colleagues around the world who work so hard to make this week possible.
“And first of all, one last time, thank you so much to the patients and their families for their willingness to so generously share their stories with us,” Bradway said.
