Tom Brady wears a stylish Patek Philippe Nautilus watch to the WNBA playoffs – Robb Report

The Tom Brady clock craze continues.

The retired NFL star wore a stylish Patek Philippe Nautilus watch to Game 1 of the 2023 WNBA Playoffs at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 8. The Vegas Aces defeated the New York Liberty 99-82 in the finals, but Brady’s wrist candy was the real star.

First launched in 1976, the Nautilus was a truly innovative design at the time, with its porthole-shaped case, octagonal bezel, horizontally embossed dial and integrated bracelet. Forty years on, this sports watch has been cleverly redesigned countless times and remains one of the most coveted models in watchmaking.

This particular example, the Ref. 5980/1R, features a rose gold case, contrasting black dial, and screw-down crown. The watch is also equipped with a self-winding flyback chronograph, a date window at 3 o’clock, and a single 60-minute and 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock.

Turn it over and you can see the gold oscillating weight with Calatrava cross and Côtes de Genève stripes through the sapphire crystal case back. The CH 28-520 C/522 movement provides a maximum power reserve of 55 hours. The watch is also waterproof to 120 meters.

Of course, this iteration of Nautilus comes at a price. This wrist candy costs a whopping $108,820, but that certainly doesn’t stop Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champion recently launched a series of horological heavyweights, ranging from a vintage Rolex Dayton to a six-figure Richard Mille. GOAT has also been representing Patek Philippe. In July, he wore a stainless steel Nautilus Ref. 5711 with a white dial to Michael Rubin’s White Party, followed in September by showing off a 1950s holy grail watch, the Ref. 2499.

In fact, collecting watches has become a hobby for the former quarterback.

“I follow them and read about Rob Report, QHodinkee and I follow various watch enthusiast profiles on Instagram,” he told us Rob Report 2020.
