This year’s blockbuster movie finally has a release date on digital platforms.
According to an article published in Variety magazine, Barbie will finally be available on various on-demand digital streaming platforms starting September 5 next year, following a pending release at the box office that made it the highest-grossing film of the year.
This is not an official date at the moment, some sources are pointing to the movie streaming on the Max next fall, so there may be some minor changes in the next few days. This is also because the film still continues to collect record after record at the international box office.
The film’s plot concerns Barbie (Margot Robbie) as she lives in Barbieland along with all other versions of Barbie and all versions of Ken, including her boyfriend (Ryan Gosling). One day, a Mattel doll discovers that she is not perfect and is forced to escape into the real world, trying to find that happiness that seems to be lost forever.
Record-breaking Barbie: This is the first film directed by a woman to exceed one billion dollars at the box office.
The cast also includes America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Connor Swindells and Kate McKinnon.
