Anthony Davis clarifies where he wants to play with Lakers next season

Anthony Davis is a versatile player for the Los Angeles Lakers. Due to the needs of the team, the post player has to play the role of center, but he has always stated that he prefers to play the 4 position.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that Davis has “made it clear” that he would rather play four games than five in the 2023-24 regular season. It also prompted the team to sign Christian Wood, a player who could fill that position.

Davis is averaging 25.9 points and a career-high 12.5 rebounds while shooting 56.3 percent from three. Now the player wants to protect his physique more, because he has been injured many times in the past four years.

The Lakers have met Davis’ request, adding Jaxson Hayes and Christian Wood as free agents in the offseason. Davis will likely continue to get significant minutes at center in crunch time, as the Lakers’ best lineup will include LeBron James and Rui Hachimura as his partners.

Another power forward, Jared Vanderbilt, also excels on both ends of the floor and should get more playing time next season.
