BBC and ITV presenter Dermot O’Leary spotted at Crabworks in Whitstable Harbor

A food shack boss revealed how TV star Dermot O’Leary enjoyed a crab sandwich by the seaside yesterday afternoon.

The famous presenter was spotted at Whitstable Harbor posing for photos with fans and also enjoying local food.

O’Leary is best known for his work as host of The X Factor and This Morning. He also hosts his own show on BBC Radio 2.

Crabworks co-boss Finlay Gullett told KentOnline the 50-year-old celebrity was at the harbor as part of a new documentary he is working on.

“He was here for a good few hours – I think he was there to film a documentary about the lifeboats,” the 23-year-old said.

“He was very kind and happy to take some photos to support the business.

“And he and his crew ate a crab sandwich, which they all loved!”

Mr Gullett currently runs Crabworks with his business partner Alex. Since he’s been operating in the seaside town for almost a year, he says the soft-shell crab brioche, similar to the one Dermot ran, tends to be a fan favorite.

O’Leary is by no means the first big name to enjoy the hospitality of Whitstable residents.

Social media influencer Mia Khalifa has often spoken of her love for the area, and actor Aaron Paul’s visit to the off-licence town left a shop owner stunned.

Store manager Ross Bell, 50, described the Breaking Bad star’s visit last year as “completely coincidental”.
