- The pop star Benson Boone returns with the new catchy single “Sugar Sweets” for the label Night Street records / Warner Records (listen HERE).
The track was produced by Jason Evigan, who has worked with Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Maroon 5 and more. Alongside the bold track comes a surprising music video shot in Hawaii. To mark the occasion, Boone announces an 18-date North American summer tour, following the European tour in April.
Full of bravado and with a sustained attitude,”Sugar Sweets” is a seductive and instantly catchy composition, highlighting the hitmaker’s ability to combine unforgettable melodies with incisive lyrics. “Oh, I bet you think your honey tastes like sugar, but honey sugar doesn’t taste that bitter,” sing Boone in flawless falsetto over a pounding baseline and driving rhythm. “Baby, you’re not sweet, look what you’ve done to me.” In short, it is an ode to the kiss valid for all ages.
“’Sugar Sweet’ is my sassy song about moving away from someone who treats you like a second option instead of a priority,” she says Boone of its first release of 2023. “This is for anyone who can relate and find self-confidence.”
The track will no doubt be a crowd pleaser when her summer tour kicks off in New York City on June 1. The singer-songwriter stops in most major cities, including New York, Chicago and Seattle, before winding up in San Diego on June 2 and 5. “Sugar Sweets” the piano ballad of 2022 follows “Before You”, which was preceded by the release of Walk Me Home by Boone, EP which includes the hits”In The Stars”, “ROOM FOR 2” And “GHOST TOWN”. The pop star memorably performed the latter in Norway – the country where he scored his first #1 hit – in front of 50,000 screaming fans.
