Beyoncé is also talented in fashion. A colab of haute couture with Balmain is underway

Ready to archive the colab with Adidas for his brand Ivy Park, Beyoncé does not give up collaborating with the upper echelons of fashion. Olivier Rousteigcreative director of Balmainwas in fact inspired by his album Renaissance for some haute couture creations. And in doing so he ended up involving the singer and her stylist Marni Xenophon in the creation of garments.

Renaissance couture by Beyoncé x Balmain was born on the thrust of the suggestions aroused by the latest album of the American singer, which the French designer at the helm of the brand Mayhoola for Investmentslistened and re-listened many times.

“When Beyoncé first released those extraordinary 16 songs, she said she hoped they would inspire all of us ‘to unleash the movement.’ In reality, she managed to push me to do much more, up to designing 50 new silhouettes inspired by her rhythm, her spirit and her voice », explains the designer.

Beyoncé and Rousteing had already collaborated on other occasions, so it was not difficult for the designer to understand the singer’s tastes in terms of colors, silhouettes and fabrics.

But at that point the idea arose of asking her to design a collection together. «An idea that Beyoncé immediately appreciated and loved». Evidently, as Rousteing has pointed out, her mother’s talent, Tina Knowles Lawsonfashion designer and entrepreneur, had an influence on her daughter.

Thus was born a proposal of garments (one of which has already been worn by the singer ai Brit Awards 2023 and another to the last ones Grammys), the culmination of five months of work that saw Rousteing, Beyoncé and her stylist Marni Senofonte work side by side, together with the brand’s team.

As Rousteing points out again: «It is the first time that a black woman has supervised the couture offer of a historic Parisian maison. And these garments were created in partnership with the first black man to oversee all the collections of a historic Parisian fashion house. We hope both can inspire other people.”
