Britney Spears has opened up about her split from Justin Timberlake, saying he slept with “six or seven” women after they split.
The couple met as children while performing on the Mickey Mouse Club and began dating a few years later, in 1999.
It didn’t last long and their romance collapsed in 2002, after which the 42-year-old Cry Me A River star moved on with Cameron Diaz, while the Toxic musician had a brief fling with Colin Farrell.
The 41-year-old is believed to have detailed their relationship in her upcoming memoir, The Woman in Me, which will be released on October 24.
She wrote in Time Magazine that he slept with “six or seven girls” after their breakup.
According to the publication, she explained that she struggled with their romance coming to an end because she still had feelings for him.
“He was a girl’s dream. I was in love with him,” the mother of two wrote, explaining that she was trying to move on with Colin Farrell, whom she was introduced to by a “club promoter friend.”
Reflecting on their time together, Britney explained that the couple “had a two-week fight,” writing, “Brawl is the only word for it – we attacked each other, fought so passionately, like we were in a street fight.” .
“As before, when I felt too attached to a man, I tried in every way to convince myself that there was nothing wrong with this, that we were just having fun, that in this case I was vulnerable because I was Justin not yet finished.
Elsewhere in the book, the Crossroads actress revealed she became pregnant at the height of their romance, which led to a “conflicted” discussion about whether to terminate the pregnancy because Justin wasn’t “ready to be a father.”
In an excerpt published by People magazine, she reportedly shared: “It was a surprise, but for me it’s not a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected that one day we would have a family. It’s just going to happen a lot sooner than I expected.
“But Justin was definitely unhappy with the pregnancy. He said that we were not ready for the birth of a child, that we were too young.
“If it had been left to me alone, I would never have done it. Yet Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father.
“To this day it is one of the most painful things I have ever experienced in my life.”
Britney was left shaken by the ordeal and “cried and sobbed” on the bathroom floor, after which Justin reportedly tried to help by playing the guitar.
The Social Network actor has yet to speak publicly about The Woman in Me, but is believed to be “concerned” about what else will be included in the book.
