Britney Spears had no idea that ex-husband Kevin Federline was expecting a baby when they started dating.
The 41-year-old “Womanizer” hitmaker later found out through a friend that the former dancer was supposed to father his second child with Shar Jackson when they were together in 2004.
In her tell-all memoir, The Woman in Me, she wrote: “I lived in a bubble and didn’t have many good, close friends to confide in for advice.
“I had no idea until we were together for a while and someone said to me, ‘You know he has a new baby, right?’
“I didn’t believe it, but when I asked, he told me it was true.
“He told me he saw them once a month.
“‘Do you have children?’ I said, “Do you have children? Not just one child, but two children?”
“So they did a number for me.”
The two children are Corey Madison Federline, 21, and 19-year-old son Caleb Michael Jackson.
He and Shar separated after the birth of their son, and a little later, in September 2004, he and Britney got married.
They had sons Sean Preston in 2005 and Jayden James in 2006.
Father of six, Kevin is now married to volleyball player Victoria Prince and they have two children.
According to the book, Kevin, 45, was said to be motivated by “fame” and her lawyer advised Britney to file for divorce before he did.
In the book, which is out on Tuesday (10/24/23), she wrote: “I was led to believe that it would have been better if I had done it first so I wouldn’t be humiliated.”
Britney married her third husband, Sam Asghari, 29, last year, but the aspiring actor filed for divorce this summer, citing irreconcilable differences.
The split came after Britney suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage.
