David De Gea rejects £500,000-a-week reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo as former Manchester United ace considers move to Messi’s Inter Miami

David de Gea has turned down a potential £500,000-a-week salary and the chance to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo again in Saudi Arabia.

Goalkeeper De Gea, 33, has not played for any club since leaving Manchester United in the summer.

Ronaldo’s Saudi side Al Nasr are keen to make him their latest big-name player and are retaining hope of convincing him.

But sources close to De Gea insist his wife Edurne is not keen on joining the Middle East exodus.

Manchester United may offer De Gea a short-term contract, while Valencia’s interest in the Spaniard may be thwarted by financial concerns.

Inter Miami are also interested and the prospect of playing in MLS does have some appeal.

De Gea would then be linked with Ronaldo’s old rival Messi rather than the Portuguese.

Inter Miami also features his former Spain team-mates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.

Manchester United could be without number one goalkeeper Andre Onana in the New Year as Cameroon have already qualified.

The competition is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11.

United bought Altay Bayindil from Fenerbahce in the summer for £4.3 million and also retained Tom Heaton.

But De Gea could still be asked to return on a short-term basis.

The former Red Devil is constantly popping up around Manchester.

He recently hung out with Manchester United star Sergio Reguilon.

He later reunited with former teammate Bruno Fernandez.
