Just two days after the presentation of the cover of his fourth album Doja Cat was forced to change the image that will appear on the cover scarlet.
The American singer and rapper posted an updated version of the cover on Instagram yesterday, with a caption that is as minimal as it is exhaustive. “SCARLET 9.22 (updated cover)”. The new integumentary spider is always hand-drawn on a white background. But this time, the head and abdomen are replaced by two pearls.
The first version of the cover featured a scarlet red spider, incredibly similar to the one on the cover of the new Chaver album. After fans commented on the resemblance to the image chosen by the German hardcore band, Doja Cat removed the post.
According to Stereogum, both covers were designed and produced by Dustin RayAmerican artist from Portland. Another curious coincidence is the release date of the two albums, set for September 22nd.
