Dolly Parton shared a few memories of the pop megastar and goddaughter Miley Cyrusremembering how the couple teamed up on screen in the beloved Disney Channel series, Hanna Montana. Cyrus starred as regular teenager Miley Stewart by day and the double life of superstar Hannah Montana by night (“Best of Both Worlds”).
“Remembering when I played Aunt Dolly in Hannah Montana ❤️,” Parton wrote in an Instagram caption on Friday afternoon (September 29). Parton’s photos began with an on-set shot of Cyrus wearing a mask and ended with the duet in the recording studio, with other nostalgic moments in between. Instagram users gushed over the “iconic” photos in the comments.
Hanna Montana It premiered in 2006, launching Cyrus’ decades-long career as an actress and songwriter. The beloved sitcom ran until 2011, following “the adventures of a teen pop star who hides her identity from even her closest friends by using an on-stage disguise,” according to the IMDb description. The series also starred Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Mitchel Musso and the real father of the artist “I Used to Be Young”, Billy Ray Cyrus, among other cast members and unforgettable guest stars.
