That’s right: There’s a real feud going on between two rappers, Drake and Childish Gambino, albeit in a very indirect way.
During the start of the Canadian rapper’s “It’s All a Blur” tour with 21 Savage at Chicago’s United Center on the evening of July 5, a series of titles scrolled across the stage screen as Drizzy performed “Headlines”. And in between the lines, drawn by a fan and then posted on TikTok, is: “The overrated and award-winning hit song ‘This Is America’ was originally a diss record by Drake”.
In short, to be honest, the blowback on Donald Glover’s 2018 hit actually has a grain of truth in it. In fact, the title comes in response to an interview Glover reportedly released for GQ in April, in which the artist revealed that “This Is America” began as a joke and, yes, also as a diss track by Drake.

After all, as Glover later declared: “I had the idea three years ago,” he says in a video interview with GQ. “I told (director) Hiro (Murai) about the idea and he said, ‘I really want to do it.’
