Drew Barrymore will host the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards, the event honoring the great stars of film and television, broadcast live from the Barker Hanger in Los Angeles on May 7.

Will be Drew Barrymore to present the next edition of the MTV Movie & TV Awards. Celebrating the great stars of film and television, the ceremony will air live from the Barker Hanger in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 7.

The MTV Movie & TV Awards are therefore ready to return and, as previously reported, the event will be broadcast on MTV internationally in more than 170 countries. Drew Barrymore, who has been nominated nine times over the years, taking home three Golden Popcorns, will do the honors.

Additionally, the actress and presenter was nominated for Best Talk/Current Program at the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2022: Unscripted and in 2020, she was honored alongside Adam Sandler as “Dynamic Duo” at the MTV Awards: Greatest of All Time.

The MTV Movie Awards debuted in 1992 and in 2017 the event was renamed the MTV Movie & TV Awards thus bringing the big faces of television inside. In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony did not take place. The event returned the following year with the MTV Movie & TV Awards and MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted being held the following night.

The executive producers of the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards are MTV’s Bruce Gillmer, Wendy Plaut and Vanessa Whitewolf, along with Den of Thieves’ Jesse Ignjatovic and Barb Bialkowski. Jackie Barba and Alicia Portugal are the Production Executives and Lisa Lauricella is the Music Talent Executive.

Last year, as reported by DeadLine, HBO’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and Euphoria won major film and television awards. Who will be on stage this year to collect theirs?
