Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ric Flair react to Dolph Ziggler’s release

When the news broke that Dolph Ziggler had been released along with about a dozen other performers, it turned the heads of many in the WWE Universe.

Granted, WWE hasn’t used Ziggler on television much, as he only wrestled 10 matches on television in 2023, but after spending 19 years in the Fed, most just assumed he’d run out of proverbial clocks with a promotion at the very least. receiving flowers at a special 20th anniversary celebration themed by Rey Mysterio and John Cena in front of him.

Luckily for Zig Zag’s owner, while he won’t receive a standing ovation from his longtime employer, many of his colleagues, past and present, have broken ranks to do just that on social media, including none. except for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who was ahead of the 14-time WWE/NXT Champion in many ways.

Another performer who wished Ziggler luck in the future and congratulated him on a successful career was none other than “The Nature Boy” himself, Ric Flair, who was so passionate in his message to the former champion that he wrote it in all caps. .

While Ziggler and the rest of the WWE Universe have non-compete clauses that keep them out of the ring until mid-December when he becomes eligible to return to the ring, Mark Henry knows exactly where he should go: AEW.

While most of the current and former WWE Superstars were there to celebrate the career of Dolph Ziggler, some, like Booker T, were willing to reflect on what went wrong in hopes of providing some context to his career.

Is Booker’s opinion correct? Eh, maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t, but if WWE wanted Ziggler to have another gimmick so badly, they would have given him one; no, unfortunately for the performer now known as Nick Nemeth, his time in WWE has simply fizzled out and as a result he may try something new elsewhere.
