The final milestone of fashion month, Paris, is already in full swing. The French capital had the busiest schedule of them all, with added A-list (even A*) power in the front row thanks to historic mega-budget houses flying in to welcome their ambassadors.
This precedent was set early by Dior, which held the show on Tuesday, September 26, and invited a star-studded cast, including actors Jennifer Lawrence. Charlize TheronAnya Taylor-Joy WednesdayJenna Ortega and the rarely seen R-Patz (Robert Pattison). “Motomami” singer Rosalia and universal icon Bianca Jagger polished off the star-studded crowd.
That evening, Saint Laurent attracted attention. With the Eiffel Tower in the background, the names of famous people began to arrive. Kate Moss, Demi Moore and Zoe Kravitz happily led the guests, and actors Austin Butler, Emma McKee and Naomi Ackie also attended the event.
Models Hailey Bieber, Alek Wek and Soo Joo Park swapped the runway on Tuesday night, and London guests included Rocco Ritchie, son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie, who arrived on the arm of his half-sister Lourdes Leon. Also present at the event were unsinkable babe Iris Lowe and model Sabrina Elba.
On Wednesday, Marni seated guests, including Erykah Badu, Usher and Damson Idris, partly inside and partly outside in the Parisian sun. But the evening was reserved for Balmain. After 50 items of clothing were stolen from the production line, Olivier Rousteing pulled them out of a bag and attracted a sizeable crowd.
The party was led by Kim Cattrall, looking as elegant as ever in a crocodile-effect leather jacket and pencil skirt, along with American actress Lucy Hale and British actress and model Jodie Turner-Smith.
Thursday morning started off with a flurry of flashes thanks to Kylie Jenner, who was every inch the lady in red as she arrived at the Acne Studios morning show. The reality TV star and beauty mogul was unveiled as the new face of the brand in a mud-drenched shoot for its August campaign.
That evening the Jenners were also the center of attention at Schiaparelli; Kylie shone in a diamond-encrusted dress in the front row, while her sister Kendall strutted down the runway in a lobster-colored dress to close the show. A nod to the brand’s famous motif.
Luxury jewelery brand Messika ushered in a dazzling finale on Thursday – a diamond-studded runway overseen by pop goddess Cher herself. Other pop icons spotted on the night included Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, singer Joy Crooks and Destiny Child’s Kelly Rowland.
The runway was an equally star-studded spectacle, with rising supermodels Taylor Hill, Elton Mason and Adut Akech joining singer and French national treasure Carla Bruni to showcase 140 new Messika pearl and diamond creations.
For visitors to the Loewe show, Friday morning began with a trip to Vincennes Castle, built in the 14th century. It was attended by the freshest faces of the Spanish house; contemporary actors Greta Lee and Taylor Russell, as well as singer Troye Sivan, model Emily Ratajkowski and Kris Jenner.
The Kardasian moments continued later in the day when Kim snuck into the waiting crowd at Victoria Beckham’s SS24 collection; Kendall Jenner walked the ball as the Beckham brigade (consisting of husband David, children Harper, Cruise and Brooklyn, and the latter’s wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham) applauded in the front row.
Pamela Anderson was the star of the Vivienne Westwood show on Saturday, wearing a witch’s hat, black leather boots and an oversized check tweed coat. Her worthy neighbors included model and actress Christina Hendricks and activist Munroe Bergdorf.
Saturday night was reserved for Alexander McQueen, who promised an all-star lineup to see off Sarah Burton, the house’s creative director for more than a decade, who will now step down. And it was an emotional moment; As Burton took her bow, she was surrounded by the great and good of fashion on the runway. Cate Blanchett, Elle Fanning, Anna Wintour and Edward Enninful received welcome hugs, as did fashion critics Sarah Mower, Tim Blanks and Cathy Horyn.
Kim Kardahian continued her Paris show at Balenciaga, the 11:30 a.m. show on Sunday, where she was joined by friends Paris and Nicky Hilton. Also in attendance were Naomi Campbell, Offset and French actor Isabelle Huppert, as well as Usher, who fans would be forgiven for missing due to his cut forehead and balaclava hood.
Later on Sunday, those continuing to brave the unexpected heat wave included Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfied, who wore a dusty pink dress to watch the Valentino show. FKA Twigs gave a performance that Pugh said was “really fucking amazing” in front of her roommates, including Cher, Simone Ashley, Leslie Mann and her daughter Maude Apatow.
