QUIET PLACE

BILL AND TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE
The original (and best?) time travel comedy starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter.

Philip Seymour Hoffman plays the infamous writer Truman Capote during the time he was writing his book In Cold Blood as Capote was investigating a series of murders but begins to develop feelings for one of the suspects.
CARRIE
Prime Video not only added the 1976 classic, but also the terrible 1999 sequel. Fury: Carrie 2and a very average remake from 2013, also with a simple title Carrie.
COLD PERSECUTION
Liam Neeson helms this darkly comic revenge thriller about a quiet man who becomes a violent killing machine when a crime syndicate kills his son.
DOUBLE PUNCH
You get two Jean-Claude Van Dammes for the price of one in this not-very-good but still pretty fun action film.

THE FRENCH LIEUTENANT’S WOMAN
Meryl Streep received one of many, MANY Oscar nominations for her performance in this powerful drama.
BECAUSE OF
The 1986 cult classic horror film is about a scientist who successfully contacts another dimension, but turns into a terrifying monster and tries to kill anyone he encounters.
GHOST SHIP
Gabriel Byrne and Julianna Margulies try to answer the question no one has asked: “What if The Shining… but at sea?” 2002 was a strange time for horror.
HELLBOY
Despite David Harbor’s pitch-perfect casting in this 2019 reboot, the big red version of the anti-hero isn’t good enough, especially compared to Ron Perlman’s films.

HOT Pursuit
Reece Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara try to do what Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy did in Roast, but mostly fail here. (Also, we just realized that Prime Video has added two completely unrelated movies, one called Cold Pursuit and the other called Hot Pursuit. Someone out there is having a great time with this little hidden streaming joke. Well done for them. )
HOT BATH TIME MACHINE 2
The first HTTM was good. This one doesn’t.

Scar-Jo stars in this quirky comedy-drama about a young woman trying to juggle work, home life, and a new romance. I know… you know… life things.
NEW YEAR’S EVE
This cast list is insane: Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Ludacris, Robert De Niro, Josh Duhamel, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Seth Meyers, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sarah Paulson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara. However, this couldn’t save it from receiving a 7% on Rotten Tomatoes.
NICHOLAS NICKLEBY
This adaptation of Charles Dickens also has a very decent cast – Charlie Hunnam, Nathan Lane, Jim Broadbent, Christopher Plummer, Jamie Bell, Anne Hathaway, Alan Cumming and Timothy Spall – and a much healthier 78% on Rotten Tomatoes.
CLEANING
Prime Video added the original as well as two horror sequels. The Purge: Anarchy And The Purge: Election Yearto your streaming service.
ROB ROY
Liam Neeson tries to bring his own Braveheart to life in this good adventure film set in the Scottish Highlands.
MORE ALICE
The heartbreaking story of a linguistic genius (played by Julianne Moore, who won an Oscar for her role) who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease shortly after her 50th birthday.
