The commune of Ituzaingo said that the 2024 influenza vaccination campaign has begun and is organized by the municipal government together with the local health secretariat.
Local authorities remind the public that young children; the elderly; people who are pregnant or postpartum; and people with risk factors, they are also those who may develop serious complications from the disease and be most affected.
Likewise, they say the flu, or influenza, is a respiratory viral illness that typically occurs during the coldest months of the year and that most affected people recover without treatment. However, it is important to use the dose accordingly, as the flu vaccine can reduce complications, hospitalizations and sequelae.
Who should get the flu vaccine
In this case, the campaign targets high-risk groups (respiratory and cardiac diseases, patients with diabetes, congenital or acquired immune deficiencies, oncohematological diseases and transplant patients), pregnant women, people over 65 years of age and health personnel.
