Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been in an on-again, off-again relationship for several years. However, in August 2016, they had a public argument on Instagram that seemed to signal the end of any friendship they had left. After their split, Selena dated The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye). But in October of that year, she and Justin started spending time together again.
They were seen at her home having breakfast, attending church, riding bikes and even sharing tender moments, including kissing. It was later reported that they had rekindled their romance. While Gomez didn’t directly state whether they were officially a couple, she did reveal why she allowed him back into her life.
Selena Gomez emphasized in the interview that she has matured since their previous relationship: “I’m 25. I’m not 18 or 19 or 20. I cherish the people who have really influenced my life, so maybe it could have been earlier.” forced to do something wrong. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone will ever go away.”
However, this philosophy extends beyond her relationship with Bieber. Gomez mentioned, “And (this applies to) people in general, I mean, I grew up with Demi (Lovato). Gomez also mentioned her friendship with The Weeknd, at least as of the Nov. 2 interview. She expressed pride in the fact that he and I have a real friendship: “Something I’m really proud of is that there’s such a real friendship (between Me and The Weeknd),” Gomez added. “I’ve never really I have never experienced anything like this in my life. We ended it as best friends and there was genuine encouragement and care (for each other) and that was quite remarkable for myself.”
But later after the interview, her relationship status changed as The Weeknd deleted all traces of Gomez from his Instagram.
