In his new memoir, Tom Felton shares his secret love for his co-star Emma Watson, which began as a friendship but grew much deeper over time.
Harry Potter actor Tom Felton has released his new memoir, Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Chaos of Growing Up as a Wizardspeaking candidly about his feelings for his co-star Emma Watson.
As Watson previously reported, the actress considered Felton her soulmate.
“We’ve been loving each other in a special way for over 20 years now, and I’ve lost count of the times people have said to me, ‘You must have drunkenly kissed, just once!’ “You must have kissed!” There must be something! But what we have is much deeper. This is one of the purest types of love I can think of.”
The actress then stated, “We are soul mates and we have always supported each other.”

As if Watson didn’t make his point clear enough, Felton makes his point in his new memoir. Felton’s memoir chronicles the beginning of their friendship on set and the eventual spark between them.
Harry Potter the actor was constantly in character on set and was often harsh and rude towards Emma, even after the scenes were over. “My relationship with Emma didn’t start out very well. She would be forgiven for not wanting to have much to do with me. Felton remembers how he remembers their first interaction.
Although Felton began to tease his colleague, he soon found his affection for Watson growing. “I’ve always had a secret love for Emma, although maybe not in the way people would like to hear,” he recalls. “That doesn’t mean there was never a spark between us.”
Watson’s feelings for Felton have been known and well documented for quite some time. Felton, however, has been in denial about his feelings since he was 15. “I denied that I liked her that way, but the truth was different.”
Although Felton hid his feelings from the public, fans and the media quickly picked up on the spark between them. “My girlfriend then immediately realized that there was something unspoken between us.”
Although Felton and Watson profess their love for each other, their relationship goes beyond romance. Felton concluded by sharing, “I don’t think I was ever in love with Emma, but I loved her and admired her as a person in a way that I could never explain to anyone else… We are soulmates.”
