The story takes place in 1966 in a women’s psychiatric clinic for patients suffering from severe disorders. Young Kristen, who set fire to the farm but can’t remember anything, is locked in a “ward” where she has to make friends with other girls, each with their own problems and personalities. The clinic appears to be haunted. Supernatural and mental delusions intertwine in this dark and complex work, shot in the author’s dry but disturbing style. halloween AND Escape from New York: To make this film, Carpenter agreed to return behind the camera after a ten-year hiatus and hasn’t worked in film since.
