Have a Scary Good Time at a Haunted Bed and Breakfast in Nebraska

Not to be confused with the Argo Hotel in Greece, you should definitely prepare for a stay at the historic Argo Hotel in Crofton, Nebraska. Because some say it’s haunted!

Yes, haunted. Owner Frank Marsh says: “I have more faith now. Some things cannot be easily explained. Sometimes you hear a small child playing.”

Crofton is located in northeastern Nebraska. The Argo is a short drive from the popular Lewis and Clark Lake recreation area along the Missouri River border near Yankton, South Dakota.

This restored 1912 bed and breakfast is a place that feels like you can step back in time to when guests arrived by train and were escorted by a stagecoach. Plus GHOSTS!

Today, guests can enjoy the same Victorian-style rooms on the top floor, furnished with antiques. But you will also enjoy modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, cable TV, air conditioning and private bathrooms. Or maybe a ghostly roommate?

The TV show Ghostbusters filmed an episode featuring the Croton, Nebraska hotel in 1916 after Marsh was contacted to investigate. There, the investigators met a spirit who told them who to talk to about Argo.

Owner Frank Marsh told the Sioux City Journal that they often receive reports of coins appearing out of nowhere.

In another room, Marsh said they had to replace the bathroom door with a curtain because of so many reports of the door moving.
