Italy has always been a crossroads

Hon’ble Mr.

John Della Mora delamora.giovanni@libero.it

The great Della Mora, the hero of “Italians with a suitcase”! However, I do not share what he says today, thirty years later. Italy is depopulation, and the consequences (social, social security) are likely to be dire. Immigration – a physiological and, if well managed, healthy phenomenon – does not compensate for the decline in births.

Expressions such as “Italians of pure Aryan race” should never be written, not even as a joke. They’re creepy and – can I say that? – Weird. Italy has always been a great genetic cocktail: our ancestors are everywhere. Conquests, crossings, population displacements, immigration, return: everything has happened in our history. And we must accept that, not confine it to dangerous definitions.
