“They’ll probably cancel me just because I said it,” Aniston continued. “I really don’t understand what that means… Is there no redemption? I don’t know. I’m not putting everyone in the same Harvey Weinstein cauldron.”
Aniston went on to explain that while Weinstein never hit on her, she didn’t have a pleasant experience interacting with the disgraced Hollywood producer. Weinstein was convicted in 2020 of one count of rape and another sexual assault, and again in 2023 of one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
“He’s an ugly guy, like ‘can’t wait to meet Harvey’. In fact, you thought, “Oh man, I have to do this.” He came to me during the filming of the film to propose another one. And I consciously remember one person, like me, staying in the trailer the whole time.”
Weinstein told WSJ magazine that Aniston “never had a bad moment with me.”
Aniston is preparing to star in the third season of the series morning show Apple TV+, which explores the aftermath of a morning news show that went on the air after a male co-host was fired from the show amid allegations of harassment. The series explores different perspectives on the #MeToo movement that rocked Hollywood and defeated Weinstein.
