Thai K-pop singer Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban, a member of the Korean K-Pop group Blackpink, will receive the Culture Leader Award from the Ministry of Culture this week.

Lisa was among those listed as benefactors by the Ministry of Culture in an announcement on Thursday. On Tuesday, a ceremony will be held at the Cultural Center of Thailand where Lisa will receive the honorary award. This award aims to recognize Lisa’s role as a leading force in promoting Thailand to the world through soft power to add value to the economy. At this year’s event, the Ministry of Culture will give 226 Vattanakunathorn awards to people, young and old, who have dedicated themselves to promoting Thailand’s cultural resources.
Culture Minister Sermsak Pongpanich said on Saturday that Lisa had succeeded in creating trends among Thai and foreign fans by using soft power to add value to the economy and local products.
Lisa’s style of expression can serve as a form of soft power that helps stimulate cultural tourism and generate income for local communities, he said.
It is noteworthy that Lisa’s first solo debut entitled Lalisa The music video features Phanom Rung Buri Ram’s stone castle and Thai craftsmanship.
