Reality star, influencer, entrepreneur, lawyer, fashion-media icon. She is now also an actress. Kim Kardashian makes her acting debut: she announced it herself with a post on Instagram.
And the project could only be led by a contemporary pop culture specialist: Ryan Murphy. It is he who in fact wanted her in the 12th (!) season of American Horror Storyalongside series regular Emma Roberts.
The video announcement is accompanied by a caption made up of only two emojis: two eyes and a drop of blood.
The subtitle of the series, due out in the United States next summer, is Delicate. Nothing has been said about the plot yet, but a spokesperson for Murphy has confirmed that Kardashian’s will not be a cameo, but a real starring role.
Beyond the “roles” in reality shows about his family (Keeping up with the Kardashians before and The Kardashians now), Kim Kardashian has so far in fact participated in various film and television projects only with small cameos: from How I Met Your Mother to 30 Rock until 2 Broken Girlspassing through Disaster Movie and the most recent Ocean’s 8.
Plenty of stars have been cast or “used” by Murphy in AHS extension: Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Denis O’Hare, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Billie Lourd and also Lady Gaga, among the protagonists of the fifth season. Will it be consecration for Kim too?
