NITA STRAUSS

Call of the Void

Sumerian records

I don’t know how this woman does everything she does, she truly is one of the busiest and coolest women in music today. How did she find the time to finish her second album? Call of the Void? She also compiled a list of guest musicians for this album who are rock stars and royalty in their own right. Just a few of them Marty Friedman, Alice Cooper And Lizzie Hale. Nita, of course, toured with Alice Cooper steadily since 2014, and also began touring with Demi Lovato in 2022. This new album is absolutely amazing. We certainly felt the success of this project from her first album in 2018. Controlled Chaos which debuted on the Billboard charts at No. 1, Top New Artist No. 3, Independent Label No. 4, Top Hard Music No. 8, Top Rock No. 8, Top Internet, Top 20 Albums and No. 7 on the Billboard charts. iTunes rock chart. Call of the Void The album has already charted well and in one huge achievement so far, Nita has become the first female solo artist to reach number one on the Billboard Rock Airplay chart with her single. “Dead Inside” with David Draiman from DISTURBED. She’s lonely “Victorious” with Dorothy peaked at number 16 on the Billboard charts. Needless to say, this album and the award-winning musicians collaborate to create phenomenal rock music while allowing Nita to maintain her individuality as a guitarist. This was important to her and her label.

Call of the Void skillfully mixes musical genres. There are so many diverse artists and styles of music. I have several favorite tracks on this album. No. 4, “Through the Noise” with Lizzie Hale definitely on my list of favorites. You won’t lose if Lizzie lends her the phone. This song screams Hale’s style. The chords and riffs are a bit more phlegmatic than other tracks on the album. Track #6 is another one I can listen to on repeat. I love you very much Dorothy. DorothyThere’s a sexy firmness to the vocals. I was more than excited when this single came out. “Victorious” it’s just a good old song popular at rock concerts. Seeing them together in the arena would be awesome. Monster Track #12 feat. LILITH KING (Juliet Simms) – more modern rock, soulful, but dynamic. The introduction is right in front of you. Lilith’s voice is one of those unique voices that ranges from soft folk to face-ripping. All this diversity of sounds hooked me. Of course, the fan favorite will be track #11. “Winner Takes All” feat.

Alice Cooper
. This is a heavy track, it’s not typical “No More Mister Nice Guy” sound. It was a mix of synth rock and melodic industrial rock. I can definitely imagine a sea of fists raised in the air. Track No. 10, “Golden Path” is melodic metal featuring Anders Frieden from IN THE FLAME. This is for those who like hard vocals mixed with soft vocals. I can’t get this sound out of my head that reminds me GHOSTvocalist Tobias Forge. I’m a fan of this.

Track No. 14 featuring Marty Friedman, “Ascent”, features a dueling duet between Nita and Marty. I can’t say this song is my favorite on the album, but I can tell you that seeing them both move back and forth with two-part harmonies would be one for the record books. I mean come on. You can’t argue with me that Marty is one of the best guitarists on this planet. I’m a vocalist. I love all the vocalists on this album, but I also love the fantastic guitar solos. EYKIK!! I could seriously lock myself in a room with Nita for a day and just listen to her tracks on her Ibanez. The instrumental tracks on this album are incredible. Track No. 8, “Scorched” the softest of them all. The intro sounds like a city in trouble. I can’t explain this image to do it justice, but you can feel the journey Nita is taking us on. Track No. 1, “Summer Storm” sets the mood for the album, foreshadowing what’s to come. Stormy rain mixed with Nita’s incredible guitar is something I can listen to often. To be fair, this is also track #13. “Kintsugi” my favorite 2 tracks on this album. “Kintsugi” it’s just a beautiful song. Metaphorically it is about life and growth. If you truly love the guitar and the way this instrument can make you feel throughout your entire body, you’ll understand why this track is a favorite. Sometimes adding vocals to a piece of music takes away from the beauty of the writing. There are 14 tracks in total, 8 with vocals and 6 instrumental. The digital editions include 8 more instrumental compositions as a bonus. There are 22 tracks in total. This album and its alumni will blow your mind. This is undoubtedly one of the best albums I have had the pleasure of listening to.

“Some pieces of music come into the world with grace and ease. This album is not one of them,” Strauss admitted. “Call of the Void he was born kicking and screaming, a labor of love no doubt, but also blood, sweat and many tears.

I was very proud of the end result. Making this album has helped me learn and grow as a musician and songwriter, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with the world.” Nita Strauss
