Lakers: Austin Reeves had ‘cool moment’ with LeBron AD at media day

From playing for Team USA this summer to becoming a perennial starter for the Lakers and even being linked to Taylor Swift , Austin Reeves’ profile and star status in Los Angeles has been incredibly high.

While speaking with The Ringer’s Myrin Fader, Austin discussed another “cool moment” he had during media day when he joined LeBron James and Anthony Davis to form the Big Three.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who have a combined 27 All-Star selections, walked in front of a white background and prepared to take a photo. Then a photographer approached Reeves, a third-year guard who went undrafted out of Oklahoma State two years ago, and motioned for him to join.

Reeves tried not to laugh, but admitted the significance of the moment was a little overwhelming. James and Davis didn’t even hesitate to think Reeves was among them. He’s no longer just fighting to make it to the NBA. He has arrived. There is no denying that he is a member of the Lakers’ Big Three.

“I can’t lie,” Reeves said on a Tuesday night in October. “It was a cool moment for me.”

The half-day is a “back to school” moment for the players. They take photos, answer questions about the summer, and create content that fans can see at games throughout the season. Ideally, you want to have a boring media day, not one filled with obscenities or tension in the air due to trade rumors or players demanding trades.

Not only did the Lakers have an uneventful media day, but one of their key players was happy to take a photo with two of the team’s biggest stars. That kind of chemistry and camaraderie is necessary to win basketball games, and it’s nice that Reeves still has that childlike curiosity about something as inconsequential as taking a picture with James and Davis.

The Lakers have tried to win in many ways under James, with a co-star and a deep roster and three stars in the Russell Westbrook era. Reeves may not have the latent ability and explosive athleticism of Westbrook, but the combination is effective, he achieved playoff success last season, and Reeves is focused on getting the best with James this season. A ring.

Indeed, the purple and gold vibe is perfect this year.
