Lakers’ LeBron James honors De’Aaron Brand after historic No. 6 pick

DaRon Bland returns an NFL record fifth interception for a touchdown, and Lakers’ LeBron James pays full respect

There’s no question that the Dallas Cowboys are hot, and no player on the team is hotter than cornerback De’Aaron Brand. Against the Washington Commanders, he entered the NFL record books when he was intercepted in the 4th quarter and returned 63 yards and a touchdown to help the Cowboys win 45-10.

Brand returned an interception for a touchdown for the fifth time this season. That tied him with three other former NFL stars who had four interceptions for touchdowns in a season. Those defensive backs included Ken Houston of the 1971 Houston Oilers, Jim Kearney of the 1972 Kansas City Chiefs and Eric Allen of the 1993 Philadelphia Eagles.

Brand has seven interceptions this season, and most of his damage has been done recently, with four interceptions in the last five weeks.

famous Cowboys fan LeBron James He paid tribute to Brand when he posted a message of support and respect on X. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar tweeted several fire emojis along with the hashtag “making history.”

The win improved the Cowboys’ record to 8-3. They have won 5 of their last 6 games and are dominating at home. They’re 5-0 at AT&T Stadium and haven’t won by less than 20 points.

DaRon Bland had a team-leading 10 tackles in addition to a record-breaking interception return for a touchdown. Brand set the record by outrunning Washington quarterback Sam Howell on a punt return and then escaping two more attempted tackles from Brian Robinson and Cole Turner.
