LeBron James sends special birthday wishes to Bronny

Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, officially turned 19 on Friday and will be entering his freshman year at the University of Southern California. Unsurprisingly, the king took to Instagram to send a special message to his eldest son.

You love seeing it. Bronny certainly faced a scary situation over the summer, as he suffered a cardiac arrest during a practice with the Trojans. However, the youngster appears to be recovering well and could play well this season. LeBron provided a positive update about his son during media day this week:

“He has begun the rehab process to be able to return to the field this season with his teammates at USC. His surgery was successful. He is continuing to improve.”

LeBron James also said that after everything he has been through, he will dedicate the 2023-24 NBA season to his children. Maybe that could lead to a championship for the Lakers, who were in the running for a spot in the 2022-23 Western Conference Finals, but Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets stopped them.

Despite the health issues, Bronny is still expected to enter the 2024 NBA draft, but that will obviously depend on his performance in the upcoming college campaign. Most draft boards have him selected late in the first round.

LeBron has been vocal about his desire to play in the league with Bronny before retiring and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. This means that teams can be changed if necessary.

It will definitely be special to see father and son take the field together.
