On Thursday, Lizzo shared a carousel of random selfies and videos on her Instagram wearing Chanel pieces. The caption read: “Walk in Chanel – they love it, how the hell do you need more Chanel?”
Paired with black ankle socks, Lizzo wore a pair of chunky black “ugly” slides. The “Truth Hurts” singer’s slides featured a slip-on design with open toes and thick straps that went over her feet and kept the shoes in place. The slides were also equipped with non-slip steps.
All types of flip-flops can be dressed up or down depending on what detail the shoe is paired with. However, like Lizzo, these shoes are especially popular in casual looks. The performer’s footwear falls into the category of “ugly” sandals, a trend that, despite its name, has become associated with some of fashion’s most fashionable celebrities and influencers. “Ugly sandals” are often characterized by large straps and chunky construction, which usually prioritize comfort and support over trends that don’t emphasize practicality.
The musician wore a cozy two-piece set in black, consisting of an oversized sweatshirt and matching baggy sweatpants. Accessorizing her look, the hit-maker wore large black Chanel sunglasses with a gold double C on the sides, as well as gold Chanel dangle earrings.
The “Rumors” singer is known for regularly wearing sleek shoes to complement her outfits. She is known to often wear lace-up combat boots with studs, crystals and a monochrome palette from brands like Prada when performing. When it comes to the red carpet, she also wears thigh-high boots from Ugg and Fashion to Fig.
For formal events, Lizzo completes her look with crystal-embellished sandals from Stuart Weitzman, Staud, Jimmy Choo and other top brands.
