The state of the Lakers in the 2023-24 season has changed compared to previous seasons. Now, LeBron James’ team is considered one of the favorites to lead the NBA’s Western Conference.
However, the fact that they are among the strongest candidates does not mean that they are the only ones. There are four teams in the Western Conference that are strong and are expected to become a cornerstone for the Los Angeles club to return to NBA glory.
The Denver Nuggets are still the team of the Western Conference and the entire NBA. The team led by Michael Malone lost excellent role players such as Bruce Brown or Jeff Green in the offseason, but they still retain the main core that will lead them to command the 2022-23 season from beginning to end.
Nikola Jokic is not yet 28 years old, and his physical condition indicates that he will be able to dominate the league at will for the rest of the game. The last one is almost averaging a triple-double per game, averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game. That’s surprising in itself, but if we see their 63% field goal percentage, we can conclude that they’ll be the best candidate to beat as long as “The Joker” is still in Denver.
