Marcus Jordan hopes dad Michael Jordan can get over wedding awkwardness with Larsa Pippen and reciprocate gesture

As early as 2013, Michael Jordan held a lavish wedding to his current wife, Yvette, with his son Marcus Jordan serving as the best man. While Marcus Jordan may not be engaged yet, the “Jordan Heir” previously revealed to fans that an engagement is in the works. When Marcus married his girlfriend Larsa Pippen, the future groom already knew who he wanted as his best man.

In return for a gesture he made years ago, Marcus asked his father, Michael Jordan, to be his best man. Given that Marcus is marrying the ex-wife of Jordan’s former teammate Scottie Pippen, it’s understandable that there might be a degree of awkwardness.

Still, Marcus wanted Michael Jordan to be his best man. During a recent episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out, the eldest son of the six-time champion discussed the situation:

“Look, I was the best man at his wedding and (he) was the best man at my brother’s wedding, so obviously we’re going to keep that tradition going.”

As for the latest news about the wedding itself, Marcus also said:

“‘In the making’ is the most common thing I say right now. I don’t think we have a date yet. We’re still discussing locations, party sizes and all that stuff. So it’s not really concrete yet, but it will be will happen.”

Michael Jordan’s Previous Controversy Surrounding Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen’s Relationship

This summer, Hall of Famer Michael Jordan found himself at the center of headlines regarding Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen’s relationship. At the end of the dinner, a drunken Jordan was asked if he approved of the relationship.

He replied no and got into his car, with the entire conversation caught on camera. The next morning, Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen both woke up to hot headlines.

After talking to his father, Marcus Jordan addressed the situation on an episode of his show with Larsa Pippen Couple anxiety podcast. As he explained, he believed alcohol played a role in the communication, but after discussing it with his father, he said he was supportive:

“After the article was published, he texted me again and said he never said ‘no’ and that it was not meant to be implied.”

Since Larsa Pippen is a celebrity in her own right, the likelihood of the wedding being filmed for television might be a bit like Jordan’s. Whether he agrees to serve as Marcus Jordan’s best man at a high-profile wedding, only time will tell.
