MCU: Shared a surprising update on the young Avengers

Phase Five will officially kick off next week with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania.

Phase Four spent a lot of time introducing new characters, including many who could become part of the Young Avengers. Kate Bishop, Eli Bradley, America Chavez, Kid Loki, Billy and Tommy Maximoff And Cassie Lang are just a few of the characters that could be part of the beloved comic book crew, but it seems like fans might be waiting longer than expected to get a project of their own.

Many fans suspected that the MCU was preparing the Young Avengers, but the producer of Quantaumamnia Stephen Broussard recently provided a surprising update by talking to Inverse. During the interview, she revealed that there are no current plans for a Young Avengers project. However, she hinted that the young characters will be a big part of the franchise’s future.

“A big part of Phase Four was about introducing the next generation and new characters,” Broussard explained. “I think this is one of the themes that the next generation reminds us of,” he added of the future. “I think this is one of the themes that Next Generation reminds us of that would be exciting to explore with Cassie in the future, or with any of the new characters, like Kate Bishop. People like these, who have inherited the mantle and continue to fight the battle and make the world a better place.”

What did Hailee Steinfeld say about the Young Avengers?

Hailee Steinfeld made her role debut as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye in 2021, and previously spoke to ComicBook.com about possibly seeing the team together on screen.

“I mean, it’s always exciting, the thought of any character you play where it could go, and especially with something like this,” Steinfeld told ComicBook.com. “But I don’t think I’ve quite figured out the fact that I’ve come this far, that I’m her on this show and that this show is coming out. So yeah, that’s where I’m headed.”

Trinh Tranexecutive producer of Hawkeyealso addressed the possibility of teams like the Young Avengers or the West Coast Avengers, saying that the constant rotation of heroes inside and outside the MCU helps create the conditions for different groups.

“Obviously I can’t say much, but there are heroes who have left the MCU and there are new people coming in,” Tran said. “I think our goal has always been, ‘Let’s put Kate Bishop right here in this storyline. Let’s make sure what people love about her on paper translates to the screen.” And then, from there, we can see what the future holds. But I think the goal was to make sure we put her right in this series.”
