Actors, directors and… equipment designers?

Michael B. Jordan has long had a reputation as a fantastic actor, but in 2023 he expanded his career interests somewhat, including directing the film creed 3 and dabbled in comic books. If recent news reports are any indication, Jordan is embarking on another creative expansion in 2024—this time into sports design.
As Omar Garrick reports at The Athletic, Jordan will design a kit for Premier League club AFC Bournemouth, who currently sit 12th in the league. (USMNT fans will also note that Bournemouth is the current home for midfielder Tyler Adams, who is sidelined through injury.) Jordan’s involvement in the club’s image isn’t as strange as it may seem; A member of the team. In fact, he’s been part of their ownership group since late 2022.
Bournemouth boss Bill Foley shared Jordan’s sartorial forays in an interview with CBS Sports. “(Jordan) has really helped us with some of our international marketing and U.S. marketing,” Foley told CBS. “He’s designing a kit that will be available soon.”
The current ownership group have not been shy about expressing their ambitions for the club. In 2023, Foley told guardian He predicted the club would be competing in European competitions within five years. “It won’t be easy, but I believe we can get there,” Foley said at the time. “Brighton are a great inspiration and they are doing a fantastic job. “I certainly think we can be in Europe in five years. “
