Under the motto “Vaccination unites us”, Operation Healthy Borders will be carried out in 20 mission cities from October 30 to November 3 to guarantee access to vaccination for people with incomplete vaccination plans. Special attention is paid to measles, polio, HPV, hepatitis B, and yellow fever.
Through off-campus activities, Department of Public Health vaccinators will strengthen immunization efforts in various regions Bernardo de Yrigoyen, El Soberbio, Alba Boce, Panambi, Colonia Aurora, Oveira, San Javier, Azara, Apostoles , Posadas, Garupa, Candelaria, San Ignacio, Corpus, Puerto Rico, Garden of the Americas, Monte Carlo, El Dorado, Colonia de Licia, Wanda, Puerto Esperanza and Puerto Iguazu.
The goal is to boost vaccination in the border town of Misiones. “This is similar to what we did a few days ago in Puerto Iguazú with the Mercosur countries, where we will also emphasize hepatitis B and HPV,” said nurse Roberto Lima, head of immunization.
When asked why vaccination is important, Lima said vaccines are one of the main measures to avoid a range of preventable diseases that seriously harm our health. “Having a complete calendar not only protects yourself, but also protects others in the community.”
Why are these actions being taken?
Maintain optimal vaccination coverage and eliminate measles, rubella, congenital rubella syndrome and poliomyelitis; and control mumps.
What do these vaccines prevent?

The pentavalent vaccine protects against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, Haemophilus influenzae type B, and hepatitis B.
