The plot of the movie: The ancient and powerful Cosmic Cube called Tesseract, capable of producing unlimited energy, is in the hands of SHIELD which tests its effectiveness thanks to the work of Dr. Erik Selvig.
However, the object attracts the attention of Loki who, encouraged by a mysterious alien and his emissary The Other, decides to recover it to destroy planet Earth. After entering the laboratory and having subjected Selvig and agent Clinton Barton to his will, Loki steals the Tesseract and prepares to start the war, supported by the alien army of the Chitauri.
To counter the Asgardian, Nicky Fury tasks SHIELD with rounding up the superheroes selected from the “Avengers” project.
