Troy Aikman knows the internet thinks he looks like JAY-Z. During the recent Pablo Torre finds out episode, the show’s host detailed his conversation with the NFL legend. Pablo explained that he asked the former Dallas Cowboy about the meme, saying it looked like a “white JAY-Z.” After an initial pause, Aikman answered sternly, “yes.”
“Yeah. I know about it,” Aikman could be heard saying in the recorded audio. “White Jay-Z. There was a meme that still pops up on my feed from time to time. Yeah, it was some kind of game— I don’t know what… I think it was before everything became artificial intelligence. But (now) you don’t know what’s real and what’s not, so I don’t know if it was actually an unedited photo of me, but it’s pretty scary.”
As far as we know, the two Hall of Fame talents are not related. However, that didn’t stop the Internet from creating memes around these two. It appears the comparisons first started on X/Twitter in 2017.
Aikman and Joe Buck called the game during the NFC Championship between the Atlanta Falcons and the Green Bay Packers. During the January skirmish, Troy set X/Twitter on fire for some strange reason after he started looking like Hov. The photo went viral and as time passed, fans couldn’t shake the idea that they were long-lost twins.
In other related news, an apparent John Legend lookalike has appeared on Voice. During a recent episode of the singing competition, Legend was shocked to see who was behind Sam Smith’s rendition of “Stay With Me.”
“I look at myself,” the EGOT winner said of the 32-year-old man named Talakay. “Often people send me pictures of people they think look like me, but most of the time they don’t, and then I turned around and looked at you. We have the same hairstyle, like… I thought he actually really looks like me.”
John asked the man if he was being compared to him, and the aspiring singer confirmed. Talakay said he has heard these comparisons since high school. “I get this every day at work,” the participant said. “At school I used to sing ‘Ordinary People’ in the hallway all the time.”
“I’m sorry I persecuted you, but now you’re on Voice and I would really like to see you on Team Legend,” the “All Of Me” singer responded.
