MTV has announced the nominees for the 2023 MTV EMAs. Taylor Swift leads with seven nominations, including Best Artist, Best Song and Best Video. Olivia Rodrigo and SZA are following closely, with six nominations each, again in the categories of Best Artist, Best Song and Best Video. Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj each received four nominations, including Best Song and Best Artist. AnnalisaElodie, Lazza, Moneskin and The Kolors are nominated for Best Italian Act. In addition to the latter, Moneskin also took places in the categories “Best Rock”, “Best Group” and “Best Live”, receiving a total of 4 nominations and setting a new Italian record. Twenty-six artists were nominated for the first time. Ahead of the world’s biggest music celebration, BTS’s Jungkook was nominated for three nominations, marking his first MTV EMA nomination as a solo artist. Central Cee, FLO, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress received three nominations each, while Asake, Coi Leray, Metro Boomin, NewJeans, Peso Pluma and Reneé Rapp received two nominations. Previous Best Video winner at the MTV EMAs, The Weeknd, also received two nominations for the edition.

This year’s MTV EMAs will also feature a new category for Best Afrobeats. Artists up for the first award include Asake, Aya Nakamura, Ira Starr, Burna Boy, Davido and Rema. Paris Nord Villepinte, managed by Viparis, is the official venue of the MTV EMA 2023. The live event marks the return to Paris since 1995 with an even more colorful and exciting show.
The 2023 MTV EMAs will air live on MTV in over 150 countries. In Italy, the event will be broadcast on Sunday 5 November, starting at 19:00 with the Pre Show and from 20:00 with the Live Show on MTV (Sky channel 131 and streaming on NOW), MTV Music (Sky channels 132 and 704), VH1 (DTT channel 167, 22 Tivùsat and Sky channel 715) and on Comedy Central (Sky channel 129 and streaming on NOW).
