Nicole Scherzinger recalls the humiliating moment her tight catsuit ripped at the crotch in front of teenage Justin Bieber, just seconds before her live performance on The X Factor

Nicole Scherzinger recalls the moment she was left mortified when her tight catsuit ripped in front of teenage Justin Bieber just moments before performing on The X Factor in 2010.

The 45-year-old singer, who was a guest judge on the show that year and then became a regular panelist in 2012-13 and 2016-17, took to the stage to perform her song Poison ahead of the live studio performance.

And she almost flashed fellow pop star Justin, then 16, as he waited for her backstage.

The former Pussycat Dolls star told The Sun: “My worst fear has come true. I went on stage and performed solo for the first time. It was on X Factor and it was me and Justin Bieber.

“I got to sing my new song Poison and I was wearing this jumpsuit that fit tighter than a glove.

Unlucky: She nearly outshone fellow pop star Justin, who was 16 at the time, while he waited with her backstage (pictured of Justin on The X Factor in 2010).

“I was like, ‘Let’s go, are you ready for me, world?’ “I said, ‘Let me stretch,’ and the whole (perineum) area was wide open.”

Luckily, seamstress Nicole was on hand to stitch up the rip within seconds as the show’s crew counted down in preparation for the talent show’s live broadcast on ITV1.

She added: “She stitched up that puppy. I don’t know how it happened, but one movement and the whole thing could come off my body.”

Nicole’s performance was a hit with the studio audience, she received a standing ovation and her single reached number two on the charts.

It comes after Nicole revealed she was planning two weddings with her future husband Thom Evans.

Entertainer Nicole met the 38-year-old former rugby player when he took part in Celebrity X Factor in 2019 and she says she now plans to say “I do” to him in Hawaii, followed by a reception in Europe.

Nicole, who currently plays Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard in the West End, also told The Sunday Times Culture app that her grandfather will officiate the wedding.

She added: “The reception will be somewhere in Europe. I didn’t even think about anything further.”

Born to Perform: Luckily, Nicole’s seamstress was on hand to stitch up the rip within seconds before she launched into her performance of her song Poison (pictured of Nicole in a catsuit on The X Factor in 2010).

Nicole also said married life with Scotsman Tom would be based in the UK, but added: “We travel a lot and I love it.”

But she admitted she couldn’t concentrate on her upcoming wedding while filming Sunset Boulevard, where she was covered in blood in some horrific scenes.

Nicole said that when friends ask her about her wedding plans, she says, “Hey, I need to find Norma Desmond. Until I find her and open this show and I’m proud of it, I don’t think about anything.” more.”‘

Nicole and Tom announced their engagement earlier this year after three years of dating.

Marriage: This comes after Nicole revealed her wedding plans before saying “I do” to fiance Tom Evans.
Sweet: The former Pussycat Doll singer revealed that the former 38-year-old rugby player popped the question during a trip to Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal in June.

She thanked her followers for the congratulatory messages after she and Tom announced they were getting married, saying online: “Thank you so much for all your lovely birthday wishes and kind messages about our engagement. What a week…still on air (cloud emoji) 9.’

Nicole has been open about her desire to get married and has previously said she wants to meet someone who will make “the heavens sing” on their wedding day.

Nicole, whose exes include Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, 38, and Nick Cannon, 42, told the Daily Express: “My biggest weakness is that I’m a fool for love. A real sucker…the bravest thing I’ve ever done is to love someone and let them go when you know it’s not good for you, or to serve you.

“Then you will finally love yourself. I would like to get married one day. I’m looking for a wedding, my wedding. I think the heavens will sing when I get married.”
