She says it makes her smell like an angel.

Everyone has that scent that perfectly reflects who they are. For some, it’s fruity, sweet aromas that leave a candy-like sensation. For others, it’s more musky, earthy notes that will help ground you; or floral notes that give a feeling of lightness and airiness. For all those wondering, Olivia Rodrigo’s scent smells like, “Maybe you could smell like that naturally if you’re an angel.”

At the end of September, Rodrigo sat down with GQ share 10 things she can’t live without, including her signature scent.

Her favorite perfume? The Maison Francisco Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum ($325). She says the scent made her realize that she is truly a perfume person. Saying, “I was never into perfume until I smelled this and I was like, ‘This is for me.’ So much so that she has a scented candle at home.

She likes a luxurious scent because she doesn’t like to smell like candy or flowers and prefers notes with a more natural scent or ones that “don’t smell like anything I can identify.”

It’s easy to see why she gravitates towards Baccarat Rouge 540 for its notes of jasmine, saffron, cedar and amber, which the brand says will envelop your skin like a woody breeze.

Rodrigo is not alone either. Ever since word got out that this was the alt-pop princess’ favorite scent, TikTok users couldn’t stop talking about how obsessed they were with the scent.

The comments section of the video alone was full of people saying, “This smells like luxury,” and some even joked that when they smelled it, they started floating in the air – it smelled so good. It’s long been a favorite of the TikTok perfume community, with #baccaratrouge540 having over 530.9 million (!!) views. Singer Nessa Barrett also recently spoke Seventeen that she is always asked what scent she wears when she is wearing it.

Of course, in natural TikTok fashion, when a product becomes more popular, everyone is looking for a copy that is as good as the original. And luckily for all of us who can’t justify buying $325 worth of perfume, they found it. For a lighter version, TikTokers say Ariana Grande’s Cloud Perfume ($65) is a good alternative, as is Dossier’s Ambery Saffron ($45).
